When I first saw this drama, the name sounded so silly I skipped it when it appeared on my Netflix home page. One day, I was bored and had nothing else to do, I watched the trailer (just by hovering your mouse over the banner) and the story actually intrigued me. Thus began my journey with Crash Landing into You on Episode 1. I binge watched the whole drama within two days.
The more I watched the drama the more I was surprised. Each of the filming locations (the Switzerland ones) were all filmed in places I went to my on my recent trip! So I decided to write about it so all Crash Landing into You could also visit there and see how beautiful Switzerland is. It is exactly as they described it in the drama, so peaceful, blue waters with bold, daring mountains in the background. The drama was filmed in three regions in Switzerland, Iseltwald, Zurich and the Jungfraujoch region.
Iseltwald
Iseltwald is a beautifully and quiet village that not too many people know about. It is about to get more popular though, since this drama had an abundant of scenes here. Fans may be familiar with this scene as the one where Ri Jeong Hyuk playing the piano at the pier right by the waters as Yoon Se Ri stood off in a boat listening to his music. Ri Jeong Hyuk is later standing off to the side of the lake with all his luggage contemplating life right before he is heading back to North Korea to follow his brother’s footsteps to becoming a soldier. This village is a little out of the way, but you are rewarded with amazing views if you do decide to come. Read on to see directions on how to get here!

How to get to Iseltwald, Switzerland
Bus 103 from Interlaken Ost Station in the direction Iseltwald, Dorfplatz. The bus station is right outside when you exit the station. Check schedules early as there is only ONE bus every hour. Journey will take approximately 25 minutes. Interlaken Ost also known as Interlaken West is a very popular stop for those heading up the Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) mountain. It is the station where all the tours start at. Note, there is only one bus per hour if you are heading back to Iseltwald so keep this in mind! In summer, there is a boat tour you can take that takes you around the lake with one of the stops being Iseltwald. Yoon Se-ri took the boat which was where she first heard Ri Jeong Hyuk play the piano.
Bus Fee
If you are staying at a hotel in Interlaken Ost, most hotels will provide you with a bus pass for unlimited travel. However, if you are here on a day trip, try buying a bus ticket at the station. I believe that you can buy a bus ticket once you board the bus, just tell the bus driver where you are going and insert your money, the machine provides change if you are big bills. However, 90% of the time they do not check for tickets (you can board at the back).

Interlaken Ost
In the last episode of Crash Landing into You, Yoon Seri is seen driving in Switzerland and pulling up in front of this five-star luxury hotel to oversee the location for the music ceremony sponsored by her company. The hotel is actually real, Victoria Jungfrau, located at Interlaken Ost (also known as Interlaken West station). It is about a ten minute walk from the train station. Alternatively, you can walk from Interlaken L’est (Interlaken East station).
How to get to Interlaken Ost
Frequent trains from Zurich and Bern arrive at Interlaken Ost daily with fares starting from 20 Francs (supersaver ticket- book in advance!). From Bern, it takes an hour and from Zurich, it would take 2 hours to arrive.
Where to live in Interlaken Ost
Interlaken Ost is one of the more expensive hotels in Switzerland and it was quite difficult for me to find a budget hotel to stay in. I was looking to stay near the train station (Interlaken Ost) so I could journey up the Swiss mountains the following morning. I ended up staying at 5th Floor @ Hotel Interlaken for 1 night for 106 CHF (83.75 GBP/ 108 USD). Hotel Interlaken is a 4 star hotel, but they’ve converted their 5th floor into a ‘budget level floor’ with smaller and simpler rooms, and shared bathrooms, but with breakfast provided.
Zurich
A great deal of scenes from Crash Landing into You were filmed in Zurich, mainly the ones from the last episode where Yoon Se-ri is walking around Zurich hoping to catch a glimpse of Ri Jeong Hyuk. Here she is walking on Münsterbrücke Bridge . In the last episode at one point she thinks she sees him playing on the piano, but turned out it wasn’t; this scene was filmed on Lindenoff Hill.

Kleine Schedigg
For all scenery images that were taken with green rolling hills and the mountains, these were taken within walking distance from Kleine Schedigg train station. This station is along the scenic route from Interlaken Ost to Jungfraujoch station (Top of Europe). Basically, it is a route with different stations where you can hop-on, hop off. Each stop along the way boasts different scenery and the paragliding image below was taken at Kleine Schedigg. Panorama Bridge Sigriswil
Many of you may be familiar with Panorama Bridge Sigriswil. This is where Yoon Se-Ri was planning on jumping from the bridge, committing suicide after all that drama with her family. Coincidentally, this is where she first met Ri-Jung Hyuk and his so-called “fiance”. She helped take a photo of them together.
How to get here
Sigriswil is located about 40km southeast of Bern (about 45 minutes by car). There is a large, free car park right next to the suspension bridge.
By public transport: From Thun train station, take bus line 25 to Sigriswil or boat to Gunten, from there take bus line 25 to Sigriswil, station “Sigriswil Dorf”.
About the suspension bridge
There are a total of three suspension bridges in the area with nice hiking trails that circle around Lake Thun. Panoramabrücke Sigriswil is over 144 meters long which opened in 2011.
