One of the smaller known coffee shops but highly reviewed located in Da-An district, Jack and Nana has grown to fame due to the nicely designed exterior which makes it one of the Instagrammable cafes in Taipei. Coffee lovers can come and snag one of the four seats on the counter on a sunny day, but it can get a little hot if you come during the summer months where temperatures reach almost 39C! However, sitting outside on a nice breezy Spring day in Taiwan is very refreshing when you sip on coffee and contemplate when this crazy virus ravaging the world will end.
The interior of Jack & Nana Coffeeshop is quite small, there are no more than 3-4 tables and they fill up quickly as people tend to sit and bring their laptops and work there for an afternoon. I was unable to get an interior seat and resorted myself to sitting outside. However, due to the nature of my body, I am a magnet for Taiwanese mosquitoes (they just love my blood!) therefore, after acquiring 3-4 newly bitten bumps, I decided to take away my coffee and leave the premises.
I tasted one of their cappuccinos and was very pleased with my drink. However, Jack and Nana place a very heavy emphasis on their black coffee with different origins. If you’re not a black coffee drinker, you will have to resort to three of their last and bottom-of-the-list options: latte, capppucino, or just a plain regular Americano. They have a couple of options for desserts but that’s it. If you don’t drink coffee, THIS is NOT the place for you. There are no tea or juice options.
