Neon Palms
Probably one of my favorite places to eat brunch or lunch, Neon Palms is located right beside Sea Circus which is their sister shop! I found out about Neon Palms from their super well maintained Instagram page @neonpalmsbali and their other account @seacircus is also updated regularly with awesome and mouth-watering photos. Neon Palms is one of my go-to places for brunch, and their shop itself is very Instagram-worthy. Although you might miss out on this place, their first floor is their clothing boutique shop and the restaurant is located on the second floor. Their teriyaki salad was the BEST one I’ve ever eaten and cold pressed drinks are healthy and DELI-CIOUS.

Sea Circus
The sister restaurant to Neon Palms, Sea Circus offers a completely different vibe than Neon Palms. This place is very popular among Western tourists, and almost every customers is Caucasian. In fact, I believe I was the only Asian in the restaurant other than the Indonesian servers. Their menu doesn’t provide photos for their food, so it’s advisable to go on their Instagram to see what looks good. Prices are more expensive than Neon Palms, probably due to their location though. Regarding their food, there are some smoothie options, brunch options, although I felt their portions were a little small. The inside of the restaurant is more difficult to take photos, but their tables are nicely decorated for flatlays if you are interested!
Address: 22 Jalan Kayu Aya, Seminyak, Bali.
Opening Hours: 7:30AM to 10PM, daily
Price Range: more pricer, expect to spend around 180K for two meals and two drinks
I ordered: Acai bowl, smashed avocado, orange and lemon squeezed juice

Nalu Bowls
This shop markets themselves as the first shack in Bali to introduce smoothie bowls catering to those who crave a sweet & refreshing treat on those balmy Bali days according to their website. Every Nalu Bowl that is made is so Instagram-worthy I couldn’t help but snapping photo after photo until my husband got impatient and asked if he could finally eat his.
This shop was a bit hard to find at first, I actually thought it was the shop with indoor seating right beside it. No, Nalu Bowls is situated as a outdoor bar on the first floor (you can sit at the bar and enjoy your Nalu Bowl if you’d like. More seats are available to the shop on the right, if you go in, make your way to the back as there are terrace seating on the second floor. The upstairs cafe offers breakfast and brunch options, AS WELL AS Nalu Bowls. NOTE: Take photos of the bar & surroundings on the first floor and then head upstairs as there won’t be any good spots upstairs!
Address: various locations, directly google to find them!
Opening Hours: 7:30AM to 6PM, daily
Price Range: each smoothie bowl is approx 65K
I ordered: ULUWATU & MAVERICKS nalu bowls

Cafe Organic
Cafe Organic is located in various locations around Bali and boasts itself to be a health conscious, plant based cafe born in the heart of Bali. Their entire menu consists of lip smacking, simple and fresh dishes with nice interior-decorations and natural lighting. The one I visited was located in Canggu with interior and exterior seating. On a sunny day, sitting outside is very refreshing with lots of natural and bright light to add for your photos. Come for their acai bowls, fresh smoothies made from locally sourced farmed goods.
Address: Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong No. 58, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Canggu
Opening Hours: 7AM to 6PM, daily
Price Range: Expect prices to range from 60K ~ 150K
I ordered: Acai Bowl, 75K, freshly squeezed apple juice 30K

Motel Mexicola
As the name suggests, Mexican Mexicola serves Mexican food and it is NOT a motel! From tacos to quesadillas, this restaurant has great up-beat music, mouthwatering cocktails, and delicious food. Reservations are recommended, but there are seats available for walk-ins and it is advisable to come early to avoid a waiting time. Surprisingly, food is served quite quickly with awesome service from staff. Located in downtown Seminyak, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit in the morning where it’s brighter for photos. Unfortunately, I came at night, and the lighting wasn’t too good for photos. Prices are more premium here, so expect to spend around 200K IDR for 4 tacos and two non-alcoholic drinks.
Address: Jl. Kayu Jati No.9X, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali
Opening Hours: 11AM to 1AM, daily
Price Range: expect the bill to each around 200K for two people.
I ordered: TACO BAJA 35K, TACO DE POLLO 40K, TOSTADA DE COCHINITA 45K, two juices 35K each. To be honest we didn’t feel full at all after three small tacos and two drinks, but the bill already amounted up to 200K which is quite a lot.

Best Value for Money Cafe in Canggu – Crate Cafe
Crate Cafe is one of the best value of money cafe I discovered in Canggu just because I saw hordes of people just chilling in this shack off to the side of the road. I couldn’t understand why there were so many people, and then I realized their food is as good as their prices! Instead of spending money on making their cafe Instagram-worthy, they have gone directly opposite, providing great food to customers at a low price with very minimal decor.
Crate Cafe is self-service, meaning you find your own seat, decide on what you want to eat looking at the menu written in huge writing on their wall and go up to the counter yourself to pay for your food. You will be handed a number which you take back to your own table and you wait. A server will come shortly with your order and Voila! Enjoy your meal. No service charge, meals around 40-60K. Very, very price friendly and the food is absolutely healthy and delicious at the same time.
This is one of my favorite value-for-money- cafes and if I hadn’t already had breakfast at JungleRoom and a second breakfast at Cafe Organic, I would’ve enjoyed my third breakfast even more at Crate Cafe but by that time I was super stuffed and could only eat a salad. I would recommend anyone to order their French Toast because those looked super yummy when served!
