Top 8 Instagrammable Cafes in Taipei You Must Visit

Rufous Coffee Roasters-4

My friends often ask me for a list of coffee shop recommendations when they come visit Taipei and lucky for them, I have complied a list of the best ones here in this post. I have visited each shop personally and while there were lots that did not make my list, the ones that DID are because (1) the coffee was great! (2) the place is Insta-worthy (3) service was friendly (4) price was friendly.

There are a plethora of coffeeshops in Taipei and I find that each time I come back, there are new ones opening every month. To stand out from the crowd, each one is putting in more effort to become different or target a different group of people (like vegan!). Because of that, I will keep on updating this post regularly as much as I can!

All Day Roasting Company

All Day Roasting Company Exterior

All Day Roasting Company is one of the older coffee shops that has been in Taipei’s Minsheng District for quite a while now; I first visited this stop over 4 years ago! This cafe uses stone and wood for their interior design which makes it great for backdrops. Previously, I brought my own company’s products here to take some lifestyle photos here which makes this one of my top places to go to to take Insta-worthy photos. Read my Full Review here.

Tamed Fox

Tamed Fox is one of the rare vegetarian brunch restaurants in Taipei and this is one of the first of its kind. I spotted this gem on Instagram and made it a goal to visit here for brunch on a weekday with my husband. He came unwillingly, but I told him I would be treating him and then he was fine with that. The exterior is where you want to take your Instagram photo as there are many angles to position you camera. There are a lot of choices for brunch, including vegan options . I enjoyed the food but found their drinks to be very simple. The coffee was a bit too sour for my taste but it may depend on which coffee you prefer. The matcha latte I had was quite disappointing. There was nothing special about it.

Jack and Nana Cafe

The exterior of Jack and Nana Cafe presents an Insta-worthy opportunity and visitors are constantly snapping away at the bar stool seats at the front of the cafe. The interior of the cafe is quite small and not suitable for studying. On a cool spring day, sitting outside would be equally refreshing and very chilling for a coffee date. . Their menu is quite limited with a lot of choices for black coffee and very limited for lattes and cappuccino with reasonable prices. Read my Full Review here.

Rufous Coffee Roasters

I found out about Rufous Coffee Roasters not from their Instagram page, but from a Travel & Coffee book I read at U.I.J Hostel and Hotel in Tainan (read my hotel review here). The owners here are very dedicated to roasting their own coffee and you can see off to the left is their roasting area. They have a variety of black coffee (I’m afraid I can’t comment to much on this as I am not a professional coffee drinker). I usually am content with a simple cappuccino or flat white or an occasional mocha. Their black marbled tables and Chesterfield-designed sofas make this coffeeshop great for photos. Come early on a weekend to snag a seat by the window!

Fika Fika Coffee

Fika Fika is one of my favorite coffeeshop in Taiwan, it is a bit far away from my house, but whenever I get together with my friends and we are looking for a coffeeshop, Fika Fika comes into mind easily. Lots of people come here to work as the surroundings is very suitable for working for a long period of time. Their coffee tastes great and their brunches are delicious. However, what tastes good comes at a price, so be prepared to spend $200 NT for brunch, and $180 NT for a cup of coffee!

ZHONGXIAO XINSHENG MRT STATION

KIOSK

This is one of my all time favorites, I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years now. It’s one of my favorites because o its close proximity to Huashan 1914 Creative Park. After exploring the park, Kiosk is a great place to sit down for a cup of coffee. The downside of this cafe is they don’t provide any food so if you’re hungry… Coffee here is great, if you’re not up for coffee there’s tea as well as orange juice (freshly squeezed right before your eyes!). I ordered a mocha and enjoyed it (cost $160). A little pricey for a small cup, but I enjoyed the environment and all the natural lighting that came with it. It was fairly quiet on a Saturday morning around 10AM.

Address: No. 40, Section 1, Xinsheng North Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10471
Opening Hours: Wed- Mon 10 AM- 5PM; Closed Tues
Great For: natural lighting, white & black shots
Seating: Plenty of seating, busy on weekends (there may be a wait),

TAIPOWER BUILDING MRT STATION

Flügel studio

Great place for their desserts! They sell quick and for some reason why, lots of people come to this place to buy to-go desserts. Their cakes are really good and this place is worth a visit. It is a good idea to book in advance and they have a table with natural sunlight. Minimum charge is a drink. Their store uses a stone-design which makes it Instagram worthy! Come early on a weekend to ensure you get a seat! (*updated as of May 26, 2019: I visited this place again and took more photos so you guys could get a better feel of how the cafe looks like! I made a trip especially for their cakes– please try them out!)

ZHONGSHAN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL MRT STATION

Spoon Cafe

spoon cafe

This little junky cafe is located in such an obscure location it is quite difficult to get to unless you have a car. I made this trip because a friend of mine drove, and we were just looking for a place to sit down and use our laptops. It’s quite empty on a weekday, not sure for weekends. Though there are quite limited seating with seats that mis-match. A self-run cafe shop with collectibles makes it pleasant to sit it and enjoy the view. Try one of their salads, very homemade (with broccoli! – I’ve never eaten a salad with broccoli inside!) They also have a wide collection of home-baked goods.

XINYI ANHE MRT STATION

Quelques Patisserie

A quaint coffeeshop with using wood and grey marbled stone for their interior design. This is one of the coffee shops I really love because it’s so relaxing and peaceful to spend an afternoon in. Their cakes are quaint and well-made (sells out quick too!) My friend and I visited this shop at 2PM (reservations are possible) and by 3:30PM most of their popular cakes were gone! So come early next time if you want more choice. On weekends they limit the time you can stay in their shop (1.5 hours), or else this place is great to do some work on your laptop. Try their Green Hill , made out of ganache montée matcha, crèmeux jasmine , biscuit vanille/sirop vanille.

Address: No. 23, Lane 102, Section 1, Anhe Road, Da’an District, Taipei City
Opening Hours: Wed-Sun 1PM- 7PM, closed Mon-Tues
Good For: spotlight white and yellow lighting, grey & wood colors, dried flowers off to the side for decoration if needed
Seating: Moderate seating but it gets busy on weekends, reservations are accepted, maximum seating time on weekends, 1.5hrs
