Where To Eat in Santorini | Greece

There are a lot of tourist traps in Santorini and the average tourist must take caution where you stop by and eat. There is no reason you should be spending big bucks on food that tastes bad, especially when you’ve dished out quite some money to travel all the way to Santorini. It is easy to spot a tourist trap, usually it involves someone standing outside the restaurant trying to lure you inside or even to look at the menu. Also, they speak all sorts of languages, trying to lure foreign tourists. Stay away from those. I usually follow by one rule of the book, GOOD restaurants don’t need to spend efforts to lure you in, people automatically flock over to the restaurant. In this blog, I recommend some restaurants you should visit in Santorini, all taste-tested by me.

Skiza Cafe, Oia

This cafes is one of my favorites in Oia with a beautiful terrace where you can sip some coffee while enjoying the Aegean sea. Their menu is reasonably priced, we just enjoyed some drinks here before heading to dinner. Try to get one of their terrace seats for best views.

On the first day of our trip we decided to enjoy the sunset from their terrace. This was our view. That’s my sister using her iPhone to take a sunset photo. Since it was our first day in Oia, we didn’t know that there was another better location to take photos- the Fortress. However, I’m glad I got this shot becuase I got the sunset + white houses. If you take photos from the Fortress, you are mainly taking photos of the sunset only.

Floga Restaurant, Oia

This is my favorite restaurant in Oia which I visited at least 3 times during my trip. Why? Their food was delicious, waiters were very friendly, and they had nice views of the Aegean. If you want a seat by the Aegean, a reservation is highly recommended. The first day we sat inside the restaurant, but the next day we were able to get a seat overlooking the Aegean. (Though, I do recommend making a lunch reservation; there isn’t really much to see at night.)

The waiters there were extremely friendly and polite. Our waiter, Anesti, was very kind and gave us recommendations for the menu. He always made sure we had everything we wanted an we were satisfied.

Corner Cafe, Fira

A highly-rated breakfast place in Fira; we accidentally stumbled across this breakfast place while looking for something to eat for lunch. Well-priced with not too much seating, we had to get a spot outside.
