For my second night of stay at Wynn Palace, I was invited to stay in their lower-tier room, Palace King room (I stayed in their highest-tier room, Fountain Salon Suite) yesterday. Palace King is the cheapest hotel room at Wynn Palace, but it was a pleasant stay nonetheless. I was actually very comfortable in the Palace King room, and only if you have extra money to splurge, you could upgrade into a suite room. The Palace King room came with all the amenities that one would need, including this wondrous bathroom I enjoyed very much.
I just came back from a trip to Kyoto, Japan a few days ago and I couldn’t help but to imagine the great difference in the bathrooms. Literally, the bathroom at Wynn Palace was the size of the bedroom at my hotel in Japan (I stayed in Toyoko Inn). Japanese people place a small emphasis on the importance of bathrooms, whereas people in the East, we put a great deal of effort in the bathroom. Nonetheless, let me show you photos to so you understand better.
Lower Tier Room- Palace King
Let’s start off with a tour of the bathroom! I find it the most important of all hotel rooms- always check their bathroom first.
Bathroom
- Two sinks for female and male use
- Amenities include: toothbrush (2), golden brush (1), tooth floss, shaver and cream,
- Bathtub with a scrub
- Separate shower stall with shampoo, conditioner and body wash
- Two robes for your usage
- Separate toilette with door (their toilet paper is so soft I bet everyone rubs their face against it at one point during their stay)
Room
Besides a King-size bed, there is a sofa chair off to the side with a foot rest with a table. There is also a work table for those that are here to do some work. In front of the bed, there is a small sofa where you can sit (if you don’t want to dirty your bed that fast).
Always providing exceptional service, upon check-in, after 1-2 hours, someone will come knock on your door and ask whether everything is okay. Free truffle chocolate will be provided as well as Wynn Palace water. This is a slight difference with the suite rooms, where Wynn macaroons were offered as well as Fiji water.
Palace King rooms do not have a view of the fountain as it is one of the lower-tiered rooms. Instead, a view of the other side of Cotai is provided- airport or just open space. I got a view of open space plus MGM in the background.
I specifically asked for a turquoise room this time because I thought it would be the best for my in-room breakfast photos the next morning. There are a total of three different colored rooms, orange, red and turquoise. You are able to specify upon check-in which room to have.
In-room dining (breakfast)
If your hotel package comes with free Fontana buffet breakfast, you are able to select in-room dining as an alternative free of charge. I however did not have the free buffet breakfast option so I purchased my own in-room dining.
This was the Western-style omelette with cereal, yoghurt and free juice of your choice. When the omelettes came, I was stunned. Essentially, it was just egg whites cooked together in this perfectly half-circle shape. I didn’t know whether I should be in awe of the perfectly cooked omelettes or dumbfounded why omelettes turned out to be egg-whites instead (Price: MOP 168++).
I enjoyed the fruit platter immensely. Lots of fresh fruit were served, including figs, which I did not eat.
